Rum Raisin Muffins

(Pirate muffins)

Place 1 cup raisins, 1 teaspoon cinnamon and 1 teaspoon of ground cloves
in a sealed container with enough rum to just cover the raisins. Seal the
container and put it in a treasure chest for three to twenty-seven days.
Don't forget to make a map so you find the chest when you want to make the muffins.

The following method will surve you well, but remember the
pirate's code. It's not so much rules as it is guidelines Miss Turner.

Get out the mixer and do this:

preheat the oven to 400 ℉

1 egg
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup molasses
1/4 cup milk

mix well, then add:

1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder

mix it some more, then fold in
1  cup of  spiced  rum  soaked
raisins with the liquid.(see above)

Fill six large muffin thingies 2/3 full and put 'em in the
oven for 30 to 37 minutes. Turn temp down to 375 ℉
after five or six minutes.    The toothpick test is a
good idea when you feel strongly that they're done.

These muffins are best when they return to room temperature. Trust me!
